Next meet-up

Meeting notes can be found here.

Next Get Sutton Cycling meeting

Date and time: To be confirmed. Most likely during September 2018.

Venue: TBC (possibly Presidents’ Lounge, Sutton United Football Club, The Borough Sports Ground, Gander Green Lane, Sutton, SM1 2EY). Be sure to check back here.

Our most recent meeting took place on 6 June 2018, at the Robin Hood in central Sutton, when we welcomed Paul Gasson from Waltham Forest as our guest. Paul gave an overview of the award-winning Mini-Holland programme in Walthamstow, and talked about creating low-traffic neighbourhoods and the benefits they brings. We also heard about engagement with the council, with communities, and with those who do not initially support some of the transformative proposals put forward, and the lessons learned. Notes to the formal part of the meeting are available here, and a review of the ‘mini-Holland’ presentation is here.

Remember, everyone is welcome to to attend the Get Sutton Cycling meetings. Even if you do not currently cycle we will be delighted to see you.

Furthermore, you do not have to be a member of the London Cycling Campaign to attend meetings or help at events. Of course, we would very much like you to consider joining as there are many benefits of doing so. The benefits of membership include:

  • Free London Cyclist magazine delivered four times a year
  • Inclusive third-party insurance
  • Access to legal helpline
  • Public liability insurance
  • Great deals on theft insurance
  • Helping to support our campaigns, and strengthening the voice of London’s cyclists (and future cyclists)

So, we look forward to seeing you at a forthcoming event. Don’t forget you can get in touch at anytime by email getsuttoncycling@gmail.com or with Twitter @cyclinginsutton.
